This Cheerleader Quilt is a recent adaptation to my cheer bear. With a little color change she is ready to support your favorite team.
3 sizes: Main instruction is for the crib size 36"x42". the pattern also has measurements for a small 24"x28" and large 48"x56"
Show your team spirit by making one of these quilts as a large stadium blanket, or a small baby blanket. Add your team colors or logo fabric for a border and turn the lap size into twin size quilt.
Skill Level: Beginner The pattern lists fabric yardage, then uses tables to show the number of strips to cut and the number of pieces to cut from those strips. The entire top is then sewn using straight 1/4" seams. The shaping is done with quick corner triangles also called the snowball method. There are some instructional videos on youtube. Just search Counted Quilts Dog instruction.
The eyes are appliqué and the smile and nose are done with quilting. I also chose to try something new and used a zigzag stitch to make the lines on the football instead of ribbon.
Selecting Fabrics: Due to the fact that the pattern pieces may be sewn both horizontally and vertically to make the picture we recommend using non-directional fabric.
